Effie's Story
Effie James Co. started in 2024 after the passing of David and Hannah's firstborn daughter, Effie James Sviontek. Effie was in the NICU for 253 days and in the PICU for 27 days before she passed. While Effie's life was cut short, every day of Effie's life impacted countless individuals through her joy, bravery, story and now her legacy.
Born pre-maturely at 27 weeks and 6 days alongside her identical twin sister, Liev Parker, Effie's life was a miracle. At only 1 lb. 4 oz., Effie fought everyday of her life despite the odds always being stacked against her. After a month at the birthing hospital with her sister, Effie was transferred to a Level 4 NICU for more advanced care. She stayed there until she passed,
Effie James inspired a life of intentionality and gratitude. She suffered from severe broncho-pulmonary dysplasia and needed support for her life every day of her life here on earth, but it never impacted her fight to live or her sweet smile.
Effie James Co. inspires to bring everyday designs and essentials with intentionality by interwoven stories that spark visibility and conversations about Effie's story along with countless others who have experienced similar journeys.
Our Mission
Effie James Co. sole mission is to bring visibility and awareness to families and little lives going through a Neonatal Intensive Care experience and to support Effie's Tower - a philanthropic arm focused on educating, supporting, and coming alongside parents and families in their NICU journey.
Our Vision
Effie James Co vision is to see a world where all NICU families are loved on, cared and prayed for and feel educated and aware of how to best fight for their family while those around them have visibility to their journey and experiences and are equipped to support and love on those in their community who are fighting for their little ones.
